LiveCD problems with menu

Asked by Chad Dorrell

I am trying to run the liveCD, but the main menu doesn't come up. The language menu comes up first, and i try to select english, but my mouse or keyboard (usb) don't work.

I am running an AMD 2200 with 1.5 gb of RAM. My graphics card has its own memory. Let me know of you need to know more about my system.

You should be able to navigate the language menu with your keyboard, if you can't, it must not be detecting it properly. Do you have another keyboard you can test with?

The only other keyboard and mouse I have are wireless, I tried them out, but same thing was happening. Just out of curiosity, I got out some old CD of other distros, and they worked with no problem. I downloaded and burned 2 CD's, what should I try next?

The only other thing I can think of is to try Xubuntu (8.10 if using Qimo 1.0, or 10.04 if using QImo 2.0), as that should have the same drivers and everything as the Qimo CD. If it works on that, but not Qimo, then I have no idea what could be causing it.

If you install Ubuntu or Xubuntu 10.04 of later, you can just install the qimo-session package to get all the games and artwork, the only things you would be missing are the Qimo boot splash and login themes.

Can you help with this problem?
