Command-line interface for qBittorrent?

Asked by Lord of Hyphens

Is there a command-line interface for qBittorrent (particularly for adding torrents to the download list)? If not, is one planned?

The presence of a CLI facilitates client scripting to certain tasks.

No, not yet but it is planned. I think the CLI will communicate with bittorrent class using a socket. However, web interface is more important right now so I'll work on that first. Indeed, people using qBT usually don't want a CLI only but they want to be able to access it remotely. For CLI only, rTorrent is alreay pretty good.

No. I'm not even sure I'll work on this. qBittorrent is basically a GUI for libtorrent. Libtorrent already provides a CLI client.

Christophe,
Are you saying that libtorrent terminal commands would work with qBittorrent?

Also, I'd like to see this feature as well, but really just the ability to print the current progress of all torrents running kind of like the 'top' command. Whether it is live like 'top' or static like 'cat' I could care less, which ever would be easiest to implement. Thanks a ton for your consideration!

Any progress on this? I'd love to be able to control qbittorrent from command line as well!

Can you help with this problem?
