Using pystromo-mon.py for Intrepid
When using Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10), as you know, we have to launch the remapper with "sduo". Therein lies the rub. We can't use the monitor tool (python-mon.py) to automatically remap upon game launch (via monitor.conf). It will output the same error as the remap does w/o using sudo. So the question is... is there a work around for this? While not a huge deal, running the remap every time that I want to play a game is kind of annoying. I would like to use the monitor. I can see the python processes start (python goes to zombie once game is launched & another python process - python-mon.py starts up but stays sleeping).
To grab the output from python-mon.py launch I ran it directly in terminal instead of launcher:
barronmb@
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/
output = devices.
File "/home/
self.node = ioctl.OutputNode()
File "/home/
raise LookupError ('no uinput device-nodes found')
LookupError: no uinput device-nodes found
I also attempted to run it with sudo. However, this had no impact in game. The process is properly defined in monitor.conf. I am assuming that monitor is running, but unable to remap due to privileges.
Any help would be much obliged.
Thanks.
