Is the Root FS tied to the Development board

Asked by Chetan Hooli

Hi ,

Is the root fs specific to a board.

Eg say if I were working on a Tegra development board , what are the files specific to the tegra development board that i would need to build a root fs using this utility ?
I see an option for beagle board , so i am guessing there is some amount of board dependency !

Regards
Chetan

bump

I believe that the only affected files would be dealing with kernel development headers, but I would love to know if I am wrong.

The rootfs itself is not specific to any ARM board, as it only contains normal ARM packages.

Usually the specific bits are more related with the boot loader and kernel, but that depends on your own system. Even if you're trying to use it on a non Ubuntu supported machine, you can still generate your own rootfs with your own kernel and be happy with it.

Can you help with this problem?
