Podbird app stops every time

Today, the podbird application (from nik90) stops suddenly when downloading an episode of "VOA Learning english" from 11.11.2015. I have a BQ Aquaris phone.

As the app tries to download the episode every time, the app stops every time.

I have to remove the Database files to be able to launch podbird, but my podcasts configuration is lost.

Do you have another solution ?

Podbird uses Ubuntu Download Manager (UDM) for downloading episodes. If UDM is given an invalid url, it causes the app to crash. I suspect this is the issue you are facing. This bug has been reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-download-manager/+bug/1557771.

I cannot say why the episode url is invalid for "VOA Learning english". But If that's the only episode causing Podbird to crash when downloading it, then the above bug is the cause of that.

In the next stable release (v0.8), we gracefully avoid downloading episodes with invalid url. This will atleast prevent Podbird from crashing. I hope this answers your question.
