Hi,
at first it would be useful to know which method you used to install Pipelight. There are several ones and in order to find the problem we need to know what you exactly did. I will assume you've used the Ubuntu installation via "apt-get install pipelight" - if you've compiled it yourself or used some other way to install, this might be slightly different. If this is the case please describe what you did exactly to find out the issue.
Did you close your browser before starting the installation? If not, you might have the following problem:
https:/
This FAQ also contains the commands how to force a reinstallation of the wine prefix.
If there is still something going wrong, use the following steps to get the terminal output:
* Close all your browsers
* Manually open a terminal, type there for example "firefox" or "google-chrome" (depending on which browser to use)
* Open the "about:plugins" page in the browser, the terminal should now contain some messages starting with [PIPELIGHT], one of them should probably be an error, which describes what is going wrong.
If you need help doing that you can also join the #pipelight channel on IRC freenode
(Webchat: http://
this way we can figure out whats going wrong much easier by asking you some questions.

For the instalation Y've used zypper on Opensuse tumbleweed 64 bits with the RPM provided by Packman version 0.1+2+201308180
And I did have Firefox opened at the moment of the installation :(

In Chrome I've got this terminal output:
[PIPELIGHT] Attached to process
[PIPELIGHT] Trying to load config file from /home/philippe/
[PIPELIGHT] Trying to load default config file from /usr/share/
[PIPELIGHT] Couldn't find any configuration file
[PIPELIGHT] Unable to load config file - aborting

Hi,
we've just looked at the package and it seems to be broken at the moment.
The package you tried out is not an "official" one, but a user-created, and obviously was released before testing - nevertheless we'll try to contact the maintainer of that package and try to help him getting the remaining issues fixed soon.
In the meantime you'll unfortunately have to be patient, or compile it by yourself if you've some experience how to do that.

Yep, it's messy
The config file provided by Packman's rpm is /etc/pipelight
I've linked it to /usr/share/
But it contain calls to unexistant Wine install and path :(
I've tried to point the wine executable path to my wine system install without succes
Now it spit
[PIPELIGHT] Attached to process
[PIPELIGHT] Trying to load config file from /home/philippe/
[PIPELIGHT] Trying to load default config file from /usr/share/
[PIPELIGHT] Using wine prefix directory /home/philippe/
[PIPELIGHT] Silverlight not correctly installed - aborting

Hi,
its really complicated to get that broken package running:
* Pipelight needs a special patched version of wine, and does not run with the one provided by the distributions. - So the first step would be to check out how to compile wine, get the patches, and compile that stuff... I assume that isn't really easy.
* The next complicated step is to get Silverlight running inside of wine. In Ubuntu and Archlinux there are ready to use packages, but there doesn't seem to exist something similar for OpenSuse yet (or I didnt find it). So you would have to figure out how to do port the packages to OpenSuse to get Silverlight installed.
The config file isn't the main error, but just the tip of the iceberg. In order to get rid of the next error "Silverlight not correctly installed" you would at least have to setup your own silverlight installation in the approprite wine prefix by downloading the correct installer manually and running it there (or port a package from Ubuntu/ArchLinux).
We just send an email to the maintainer, but we don't have any answer yet, so we'll have to wait if he can probably provide some fixes soon.
If you have some specific questions we will help you of course, but we also don't know OpenSuse that well - if you're not that experienced with compiling and building packages for OpenSUSE the best you can probably do is wait a few days :/ Sorry

We've talked to the developer of that package today and he has confirmed that it is not ready to use yet, as both the wine patched wine version and the silverlight installer is still missing and has not been ported yet - but he's already working on implementing the other parts of Pipelight, then it should hopefully work.
We will keep you up-to-date and inform you as soon as a first full functional release is ready to test.

FWIW:
I just got the same problem on Firefox on Ubuntu; Netflix wanted to install/download silverlight_x64.exe
It happened after a "sudo apt-get update/upgrade" in which I got a new version of Firefox (30.0).
Problem was gone after "sudo apt-get install pipelight" (although pipelight 0.2.7 was already installed and working correctly), which resulted in pipelight 0.2.7.1
sander@flappie:~$ sudo apt-get install pipelight
