cut and paste within what is visible
I'm a heavy GIMP user who is sick and tired of the developers holding my hand and not letting me do what I want. (if I open a jpeg, I want to save as jpeg and not go through a convoluted series of events to do this) I found Pinta today and tried it. It certainly has potential.
I'd like a rectangular selection that I use Ctrl+X to cut, to be placed back in the same location when I use Ctrl+V to paste.
I think it is a bug that it is put somewhere off the screen, when your image is larger than the screen(I was zoomed in at 300%). It made me think that a simple paste wasn't working.
The other thing I would like is that when I have pasted a selection, I could invert or rotate it over where it sits. If I go to Layers/
I think the combination of pasting a selection back to where it came from and being able to invert it in situ maybe using a temporary layer that is only the size of the selection. Or maybe a new menu between Image and Layers called Selection, that is only visible when there is a selection. This would have similar choices to Image and Layers.
The other way to invert would be via a right click menu
