Combine with CodeIngniter?

Asked by Guy

I am not completely clear when I would use DevShell. I normally use CodeIngniter and am comfortable with it but i see some functionality in DevShell I would like. Can I use CI inside of DevShell? Should I?

Let's say my project is a real estate site with users who have companies that list properties, and the properties have a bunch of attribute like which suburb etc. I want the user to be able to manage his company and properties only. Is this a CI or a DevShell project?

Hi Guy,

You could very easily include CI as a plugin for instance, however, it will be fast too. So if you feel you would be more productive including CI then go for it. However, I won't because I know PHPDevShell well, PHPDevShell is a complete framework focusing the core aspects of what you might use when writing an application. PHPDevShell UI is written as a plugin inside PHPDevShell, so there are tons of examples getting things done quickly.

Give it a shot, start with PHPDevShell and see how far you get without using CI, you might like PHPDevShell or you might not. I hope you do :)

Can you help with this problem?
