xfs kernel warnings with xtrabackup 1.9.0

I believe this is related to the bug reported for tar4ibd not using O_DIRECT in a streamed backup whic was reportedly fixed in the latest 1.6.5 and is supposedly deprecated in 2.0. However, even though I see the fix ported to both current betas of 1.9 (1.9.1, 1.9.0), I still get the same kernel warnings. Here is the output in /var/log/messages

Either the ported fix is somehow not working in both xtrabackup betas, or my kernel warnings are not related to this at all. Please let me know if there is any more data I can submit here
