video file splits when imported from Canon camcorder

Asked by Sui Ki Li

When I imported a longer video recording from my Canon Vixia HF R100 onto my laptop, it splits into multiple files of about 21 minutes 45 seconds each. How do I import it without the split?

Strange. I've never seen this issue. Openshot doesn't cut video when you import them.

Actually, I imported the recording directly to my laptop with the USB cable
and copy the recording onto the Videos folder. I was not able to import the
Canon folder onto OpenShot.

Not sure that 's the good solution but instead of import directly a folder,
try to import each file individually.
