Openshot 1.4.3 and Blender 2.69

Asked by J.Nelson Arboleda

What Blender is correct to use with Openshot 1.4.3?

The program said:

Blender, the free open source 3D content creation suite is required for this action (http://www.blender.org).

Please check the preferences in OpenShot and be sure the Blender executable is correct. This setting should be the path of the 'blender' executable on your computer. Also, please be sure that it is pointing to Blender version 2.62 or greater.

Blender Path:
blender 2.69

Well... I think Blender 2.62 would be compatible. OpenShot 2.0 will support the latest version of Blender... but that is still in development at this time. I would give 2.62 a try, and see if that works for you. Good luck!

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.1 and needed to change the location of blender from the default of 'blender' to '/usr/bin/blender' since this is the path used to access blender. From a terminal screen type 'which blender' (omitting quotes) will display the path to the blender executable. Enter the entire output line including the / at the beginning into the Blender location line of preferences.

I just did what rgreenlaw told to do before come here. And the problem remains.

Blender is working just fine for me. The problem is with OpenShot.

The output given by OpenShot is:

------------------------------
Blender, the free open source 3D content creation suite is required for this action (http://www.blender.org).

Please check the preferences in OpenShot and be sure the Blender executable is correct. This setting should be the path of the 'blender' executable on your computer. Also, please be sure that it is pointing to Blender version 2.62 or greater.

Blender Path:
/usr/bin/blender

Error Output:
No frame was found in the output from Blender
----------------------------

Blender 2.69
OpenShot 1.4.3
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

I confirm this situation. The animated title Editor 3D can't be used now.
After, I 've not checked if it is for all titles or a set of titles.
They(the Blender Team) have still changed their api python and even
specifing the blender path doesn't resolve the problem.

Same issue on ubuntustudio 14.04.3. I've also tested this in ubuntustudio 15.04 and 15.10. Problem persists. Where the H - E - double hockeysticks is the solution?
