Will VP8 export support be possible soon?

Asked by Chris Y.

VP8 is growing in importance as a video codec for the web. Does mlt support it yet? I can't find any definite info on that. I'd really like to be able to export VP8 from OpenShot! Especially for YouTube.

Great question. You inspired me to post an article on the OpenShot website. Please read the following article, which will hopefully answer your question.

Hey thanks! Good to know it's possible *right now*. :) I just didn't look for the right thing!

So if the audio I import is already Vorbis audio, I hope it won't need to be re-encoded?

Yes, I think the audio and video get re-encoded regardless of what the
original codec is. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is how MLT
and FFmpeg work.

Thanks!
