3D titles require blender 2.5 but 2.49.2 is the version in repositories

An update for openshot was in my update manager today that included the new 3D title feature. I installed blender from the Ubuntu (10.04) repositories, but it is version 2.49.2. The 3D titler requires blender 2.5 or greater. How do I install version 2.5 of blender?
