Users unable to create tasks

I get the following message when a user other than the admin tries to create a task in the latest nightly:

"Access Denied The requested operation cannot be completed due to security restrictions. Please contact your system administrator. (Document type: Task, Operation: write)"

Should I file a bug somewhere?

Tesoro,

You'll need to configure proper access rights to get this working.

What group does the logged in user belong to?

The user can create tasks if I change them from Project/User to Project/Manager, but then all the tasks assigned to everyone appear in their Tasks list. If I change them back to Project/User then no tasks appear in their Tasks list. How can I give a user the ability to read only their own tasks and to write new tasks? Am I approaching this the wrong way?

I found 'Reporting -> Project -> My Tasks' where the user can view only their own tasks. I added all of the Access Rights and Rules for Project/Manager to Project/User but Project/User still can't read or write tasks. What am I missing?

Hi,

There are record rules which might playtole here.

Other way the private visibility option on project will do the trick.

I don't understand. A user in group Project/User should be able to view tasks, correct? Should I file a bug?

There does not seem to be a bug, rather you have to configure it well.
