If you want to run the ntrig calibration tool, you're better off installing the ntrig-utils package from the uTouch PPA [1] and running the ntrig-calibrate tool. That package comes with a manpage describing how to use the tool.

I am using oneiric and after installing thr ppa I get

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/utouch-team/utouch/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/main/source/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/utouch-team/utouch/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

The reason why I am trying to calibrate is that two fingers scrolling on firefox and evolution often results in text selection after which no other input is accepted by the tablet.

The package has been copied into the oneiric archive now, please try again.

This calibration utility will not help if the tablet is not using ntrig hardware.

yes, now apt finds the repository. I think the package name is "ntrig-calibrate", though. "ntrig-utils" instead returns

 Unable to locate package ntrig-utils

After your advice I checked again my hardware, I must have misread it yesterday. lsinput gives actually
