IP Reservation through REST (Nova-Network)

Asked by Ivar Lazzaro

Hello folks,

I have a working Openstack Essex cloud for which I am using Keystone, Glance and Nova services.

I was wondering if there's a REST call (which I probably missed because I red lot of documentation) through which I can "reserve" an IP address from Nova-Network (and consequently: see the reserved IPs, getting errors if the IP is in use and so forth).

This could be useful, for instance, in order to add a specific service to the server LAN using an IP that is assured to not be assigned by Nova-Network DHCP Server to another instance.

Anyone knows about a REST call (no internal API, REST only) like that? If not in plain old Nova-Network, what about Quantum? Thanks for your answers.

atm, I think you can reserve floating ips but not the internal/private ones.

Not even using Quantum? If not, i think it is an interesting feature to be implemented...

Can you help with this problem?
