OpenStack Compute (nova)

unable to find host for instance http 500

while trying to bring launch an instnace I am getting an error in nova-api.log "unable to find host for instance "<Instnace id>" and http 500.

Cleanning up nova db helped

I got the same error and could not solve it.
How to clean up nova db? Do I have to delete the content of all tables? Is there any method to do it automatically?
Actually, I tried to delete the content of the "instances" table. I could not delete any row because of the existence of a foreign key. So, I set all "deleted" fileds to "1". But, this does not solve the problem.
Need an urgent help, please.
