I noticed, a lot of nova-manage sub-commands are removed and depricated with their functionality included in nova cli.
What really is the reason behind this ? If there a discussion thread on this, please point me that ?

I'm not sure that I can point to a specific discussion, but the biggest difference is that nova-manage doesn't use the OpenStack API. The nova CLI, from novaclient, uses the API. Ideally, as much as possible should be done through the API. That's why you see the trend.

Thanks Russell,
So,is there a plan to completely shift all the operations to nova cli and make nova-manage deprecated ?

I don't know of any documented plan (no blueprint for it). However, I would expect to see admin extensions added to the OpenStack API during folsom to allow for most, if not all, of what nova-manage does today, just based on discussions I've seen on IRC.
