Comprehensive Guide to Configure Openstack with Dashaboard?

Asked by Rasika Karunathilaka

Hi All,

Could you please point me to a Comprehensive Guide to install and configure Openstack Diablo release with Dashboard? Installation should be full functional and it should be multi node.
Previously I used the default Openstack guide, but I am bit disappointed as I still couldn't configure dashboard properly with Nova using keystone. Please point me to up2date Diablo package repository as well, where there are no break-up.

Cheers!
Rasika K.

I'll just share how I managed to get the three components working.

Keystone and Horizon is very straight forward if you follow through the quick start guide in

keystone.openstack.org

and

horizon.openstack.org

However, Nova isn't that simple.

I read the manuals in the wiki but they are pretty much obsolete. I am suspicious about whatever is shown there even if the content is correct.

So I had to read through the code to get a grip of what is actually happening inside.

You should read the flags.py, nova.conf, and api-paste.ini from start to end if you wish to get it work with keystone.

I went through the major packages of nova and used basic .conf and .ini file and launched it.

Whatever error message I got after, I searched through launchpad.

Guess this isn't much help but at least now you know there is no comprehensive manual to rely on.

Can you help with this problem?
