Re-install nova services

Asked by HP

How can I un-install all the nova services, or just nova-api and re-install it as a new fresh one? I don't seem to be able to uninstall nova-api since I don't know a way to un-install a program in Ubuntu in terminal except for manually removing the files in some directories, but removing files, such as /usr/bin/nova-api would not clean up all the things it has made in other directories.

Thanks

List all 'nova' packages with... `dpkg -l | grep nova`
Remove all associated files with: `apt-get purge <package_name>`

Learning about package management in Ubuntu would also help... There are both command line and GUI tools, and you can't expect to run a real system without knowing at least the basics.

Can you help with this problem?
