Arabic display problem

Asked by Khalid AlAjaji

Arabic words displayed with their characters not connected. This makes it hard to read.
This is an example:

The word South in Arabic should be like this جنوب
It is displayed as ج ن و ب , but without blanks in between.

I can not reproduce your problem. What Nightshade version are you using and what operating system and version?

Here is some info about Arabic:

- Right-to-Left language : No problem here in Nightshade
- Every character in Arabic can have up to 3 shapes: when it is in the beginning of the word, in the middle, or at the end of the word.
Also it has a stand alone shape that is equivalent to the shape of the character when it is at the end of the word, and only this shape is displayed in Nightshade.
- Most characters connect to the next character in the word, and connected to the previous character if any.

The words in Arabic are always typed and displayed with their characters connected to each other, but Nightshade displays the characters in a word as standalone characters.

To revive my question:
Nightshade display Arabic characters in the right direction , right-to-left, but it displays characters of the same word not connected to each other, which is not the right way Arabic is typed or read.
