Netflix desktop just gives me a white screen with audio only

Netlfix starts up from the app just fine. However, after selecting a movie to watch the screen goes blank (white) but the audio from the movie does play.

Jason,

I am not affiliated with the project but have been fighting this all day. At first I thought this was due to my ATI/AMD video card/drivers. After googling similar wine issues I realized that the flickering or white screen seems to be related to desktop effects. The key combination alt+shift+F12 will temporarily suspend desktop effects. For me, this displays video as expected.
