Ubuntu Netbook Remix Launcher

window action buttons not available

Asus pc4g with an 800x480 screen. When Putty is launched the action buttons Open & cancel are below the visible part of the screen so unavailable. Also btw the top bar is not visible unless the window is moved down. Had similar problem with some apps before upgrading to Ubuntu Remix. Grateful for some help on this as I am a newbie.
