Nautilus Elementary removed menu shadows

Asked by KushalSharma

Hi,

I absolutely love the breadcrumb effect Nautilus Elementary enables in Nautilus, however, I found out that the menu shadows have disappeared. Please check the attached screenshots and notice the expanded "View" menu in both. You'll see that one -- the gedit screen -- has drop shadow for the menu visible, while the nautilus window doesn't.

Is there a way I can enable the drop shadow for the Nautilus menu again without removing the elementary patches? If not, do you think I should add a bug report?

Here are the screenshots:

Best,

Kushal

check edit/preferences tweak menu if rgba is enabled then disable it. rgba enabled conflict with compiz effect on the menus. It's one or the other, we can't have both effects.

Okay great. Thanks for letting me know about this. I had removed rgba support initially, but I didn't restart nautilus after that, which explains why I still didn't see those shadows. However, when I restarted my PC, I see those shadows back on.

To be honest, the most important reason for me installing it was for the breadcrumbs. They are just perfect -- neat, gorgeous, and elegant.

I tried to link this to an FAQ so that someone else who is facing a similar problem can get a quick answer, but I seem to have run into trouble. Anyway, thanks for answering my question.
