MySQL Connector/Python

Commercial MySQL license extends to python connector?

I see that the MySQL Connector / Python is GPL, like MySQL. My company has a commercial license in place for MySQL. Does this license enable us to also use the python connector in our commercial application? I ask because it seems like Sun/Oracle has some role in the python connector project. Thanks,

Currently, there is no commercially licensed distribution of MySQL Connector/Python available.
This question would be good to re-ask when we got actually a GA or 'stable' version out.
