Bookmarking audiobooks, remembering position

Asked by Fernando Muñiz

When listening to long audio files, a feature to bookmark you current chapter within a playlist, as well as the time position within it would be very useful.
As of now, if you stop playing the file for a longer period of time, the Music application resets and forgets which file you were playing as well as the time position.
Any plans to implement this or do you intend to leave this option to a different software.

The ability to "bookmark" the position within an audio file is something that should be left to a different application. However, one feature that could be implemented is to remember the position within the audio file when the application has closed. This would allow the current audio file to not only be in the queue when the app is started again, but also skip to the last known position within the file. We had discussed implementing this in the past, but it hasn't been discussed recently.

Would you mind filing a bug requesting the app be able to remember the position of the current audio file when the app closes? We'll then discuss if and how it should be implemented.

Thanks :)
