mixxx not starting ubuntu
Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and am trying to run Mixxx 1.8.1. I've added the Mixxx ppa to my repositories as described on the download page. Install seems to go flawless. But when I try to run mixxx by typing mixxx in a terminal I get the following error:
mixxx: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/
What does this mean? How can I get the program running? What further information might be helpful?
thanks!

Ok, since it has expired, and I wasn't idle in looking for a solution/answer, some more info:

Hi Wim,
Can you check the versions of the qt4 packages you have installed? Do you have another PPA enabled that installed a new version of Qt?
I've never heard of this problem before which may mean that it is something specific to your system like your Qt packages being messed up.
Thanks,
Albert

I have version 4:4.7.0-0ubuntu4.2 installed. I don't have any other PPA enabled that installed any version of Qt as far as I can tell. I'll try to dig some more to look if I can find anything that could cause this mess.
Thanks anyway

I just installed qt4-qmake and ran qmake -v. The installed version is 4.7.0 in /usr/lib

It looks like you just need to remove the beid qt shared object files.

Have similar type problem.
Cant start skype. When I start from command line
root@PaulSamsun
I get:
skype: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/
When I start VirtualBox from the command line
root@PaulSamsun
I get
VirtualBox: supR3HardenedMa
And also when I start QGIS from the command line

Thought it happened after I installed Google Earth 6 using these instructions: http://

Hi Paul,
It looks like you are missing the qt libraries. You should try:
sudo apt-get install libqt4-opengl libqt4-dbus libqt4-svg libqt4-gui libqt4-core

Hello,
Over some time the software Keepassx did not work anymore.
I am not a specialist, so I could not solve the problem until I found today this problem.
First i deleted beid en reinstalled Keepassx.
The problem was solved.
After reinstalling beid, Keepassx is now still working.
Many thanks!
It learns me that I had to look deaper in the forums items and not only to one problem
