Can Mercator do underground generation?

I'm looking for a solution for my own game which has some underground caverns. Does mercator do underground terrain generation as well? If not, have you ever considered adding it in?

Hi, Mercator doesn't support such features yet.
It's certainly something that we probably will look into supporting in the future though. There are however quite a lot more to such a feature than the 2d terrain generation currently provided. In its simplest form one can envision it as a way to generate 3d meshes from certain input data, but how the format for either the input data or the 3d meshes is to be defined is something we must more closely investigate.

So, short answer: no, there's no support yet, but it's certainly something that would fit into Mercator.
