Could you please advise which is the latest stable version of menulibre for Xubuntu 14.04 'Trust Tahr', and if it's not available in the repository, is it available in .deb format and where can I download it?

see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/menulibre

There is 2.0.4-1 for trusty in the standard repositories.
Additionally there are some PPAs with higher versions, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=menulibre

You should be able to install menulibre with the standard package management programs (e.g. software-center or symantic or the command line program apt-get)

Thanks for the reply, I am using version 2.0.6 and was hoping for a newer version in which the creation/duplication of visible menu entries are simplified, rather than having to create a new menu entry and then copy the details from the existing but hidden menu entry.

In the 'daily build' PPA https://launchpad.net/~menulibre-dev/+archive/ubuntu/daily/+packages there is a package 201511240546~ubuntu14.04.1 that seems to contain the 2.1.2 version

Maybe you should try contacting the menulibre dev team

Yes,

I use Xubuntu 14.04.3 and the link I used was on Sean Davis' web page under stable releases

https://launchpad.net/~menulibre-dev/+archive/ubuntu/devel?field.series_filter=trusty

Chose the wrong version, but as it is, couldn't put it together, so I wrote to Sean Davis, but never heard from him. Now, I see that that 2.0.6 is the last stable version for 14.04.

Good news, Menulibre 2.0.7 is now available for Ubuntu 14.04 and 15.04 in the Menulibre Stable PPA. When Menulibre 2.2 is released, it will be added as well.
