Has the vlc engine support been dropped ?

Asked by Tim S

I'm working with the arch linux PKGBUILD for me-tv-bzr

After using this line I still have no vlc engine option working in me-tv after build :-

./autogen.sh && ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libvlc-engine CXXFLAGS="$CXXFLAGS -D__KERNEL_STRICT_NAMES -DSCAN_DIRECTORY=\\\"/usr/share/dvb-utils/scan\\\"" || return 1

I believe this config should give me xine(ui) and vlc engine support.

Vlc engine in me-tv seem to stop after last vlc update (1.0.2), I have also tried recompiling earlier versions of me-tv that used to work with the vlc engine but me-tv just doesn't want to know anymore.

I realise that the xine(ui) engine gives the best support for all dvb-t streams but the vlc engine does offer me much faster performance.

Thanks

Tim

Funny you should mention it. I was just talking about how good the VLC engine is and how I'm not getting much joy with the xine deinterlacer on #me-tv. Do you want to join me on a journey to VLC based Me TV?

I'm more than happy to test it for the limes (uk). Still at basics with C++ as far as code goes, more a delphi (lazarus) boy.
