scheduled recordings

Asked by dbrb2

Hi - can I clarify how me-tv schedules a recording? Is it merely pereodically checking the me-tv.conf XML file for any elements within the scheduled recordings section? I was wondering about the feasibility of using a cron job or similar to start the programjust before a recording was due, so that my PC could be in hibernate mode when waiting for the program to come on...

Cheers,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Yes, it simply checks every 30 seconds for events that are due to start/stop. If you'd like to see another approach (i.e. a new feature request) then raise a blueprint detailing how it would work.

Thanks,

Michael

cool. Its very refreshing to see an app like this that does what it says it does well, and doesn't try to do too much else - the stumblinng block of things like MythTV which have become enourmous!

One other thing - I was trying to get a copy of the code to have a quick look (more out of curiosity than any beleif I could be much help I'm afraid) using:
     bzr branch lp:me-tv

But was getting connection refused.Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ben

No ideas really. It works for me. Talk to the guys on #launchpad, this is not a Me TV issue.
