DVB-S and DVB tuners in same machine

Asked by ben barker

Hello,

I have both a dual DVB-T and a DVB-S tuner in my machine. When I load me-tv, all three devices are found and locked by the program.

I can succesfully import a DVB-T channels.conf file in the format:
BBC ONE:505833330:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_2K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE:600:601:4164

However, any attempt to import a DVB-S scan file gives me an error of "incorrect number of parameters"
BBC R4 FM:11953:h:0:27500:0:5404:6754

Is this because me-tv is expecting all DVB or all DVB-S tuners?

Is there any way to tell me-tv which tuner to use at startup?

Cheers,

Ben

Hmmm, there's very little support for this because it's a very rare scenario. Me TV picks the first device and assumes the DVB type. I guess today you could use the --devices option to select a DVB-S device then import/add your channels.

Yes - I can see that would work. So I would have one me-tv to watch DVB-S,
and one to watch DVB-T

To be honest I don't use DVB-S much anyway, but it's nice to know I can :-)

If I were to record something on a me-tv started with the DVB-S devices
flag, then wanted to watch something
using a DVB-T tuner, is this possible? Currently I seem to only be able to
launch a single instance.

Cheers,

Ben

Let me clarify. Just use the --devices option to import/add the channels to your existing channels. Then I think everything will work fine when you use both tuners without the --devices option. Me TV is a single instance application. I think that Me TV 1.3.6 will support multiple tuners of different types at the same time.
