How to set audio device?

Asked by sito

I use Ubuntu 10.10, my problem is I do not knowif it is you can set your audio device where the sound is played .
Strangely me-tv instead of using the correct audio device (Analog AD198x) uses the microphone usb (C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter).
The microphone also has the audio output I do not use.
How do I change the audio device and set the correct one?

You can't directly do that in me-tv. me-tv use the default audio output (the one set in sound preference).

If everything else is playing on the right device but me-tv don't, then it is possibly me-tv related.

Everything else just use the audio device, Rhythmbox, VLC, youtube videos, everyone uses Analog AD198x because I set myself on gstreamer-properties.
Me-TV has decided that instead want to use C-Media Electronics, Inc. Audio Adapter.
For example, if I watch TV using VLC, the sound is heard.
I do not understand where is the problem.
If I disconnect the microphone and run me-tv,I hear the audio, but I need the microphone.

Ok I solved the problem.
For audio, I set gstreamer-properties instead of gnome-volume-control.
My problem is that gnome-volume-control does not save settings.
I would say the problem is not with me-tv so I resolved.
