Stoppin Marlin renaming my $HOME HOME?

Asked by TheOldFellow

Is there a way of preventing Marlin (or Nautilus for that matter) renaming the home directory ($HOME) as HOME. It isn't HOME, it's /home/xyz, and that is how I want to see it. I am searching for good file manager with this behaviour.

it is, by definition, the Home Directory (as per defined in /etc/passwd)
the home directory of the current loggued user.

"/home/another user" won't obviously be your HOME.
So i fail to see any problem here.

I've been using Unix since the 1970's and in that short time have gotten used to the names of the directories (never, ever, folders), and young people renaming them unnecessarily annoys the hell out of me.

So the problem is that your program not letting me have the real name of the directory in the file structure, as indeed Nautilus also does, pisses me off.

Linux gives a device named usermod explicitly for making changes to client accounts. For this situation we are utilizing it to rename a client account, which is finished utilizing the - l banner. You can also check it https://www.newdayconstruction.co/services/

Can you help with this problem?
