Kernel Bridge Support

Hi,

I have been using your fantastic tool for a couple of days and I would like to simulate a network with STP support.
The kernel 2.6.18 doesn't seem to have bridge support enabled, so I can't use bridge utils with it.

I have found that you have several kernel's and filesystems' under download/testing page. Those kernel's appear to have bridge support but I am unable to use them. When I add a machine with the kernel 3.2.60 and respective filesystem, the console never shows up.

I have another problem, related with bonding. Do you have a kernel and/or filesystem with bonding disabled?

Hi Jose,

You have to install the "trunk" (development) version of marionnet to
correctly launch these new kernels and filesystems. You can do this
typing the command:

marionnet_from_scratch -m trunk

(there are also debian sid packages) then following the instructions in

http://www.marionnet.org/download/testing/{debian-wheezy,guignol,kernels}/README

(you have probably already done that).

Concerning bridge, bonding or other features of these kernels, you can
inspect the corresponding .config file. For instance, searching into:

http://www.marionnet.org/download/testing/kernels/linux-3.2.60-ghost.config

you will find what you want:

CONFIG_STP=y
CONFIG_BRIDGE=y
CONFIG_BONDING=y
