Mapping Older Admin Install Guide to 3.0 Install

Asked by cmnorton

I've got the latest documentation. It is well-written by the way. However, I am having trouble mapping some of the directories to what's been created by the installation.

Under 5 Setup Your Web Server

ScriptAlias /mailman/ $prefix/cgi-bin/

What directory should I substitute?

These are my directories after the build:

./contrib
./cron
./scripts
./dist
./data
./docs
./archives
./build
./tests
./bzr-2.1.0b1-py2.6-linux-i686.egg
./src
./.buildout

MM3 is completely different and is still only in the alpha stage. It doesn't yet have all the pieces to make a complete installation.

If you are trying to install Mailman for actual production use, you should be installing Mailman 2.1.12.
