Connection timed-out every time, firewall issues?

Asked by Michael Washburn Jr

I cannot download anything using dc++. It says that im connected to my hub and meet the minimum sharing requirements. But everytime I try to connect to a user, even if its just getting a file list, the connection times out. I am running Xubuntu and have a reliable internet connection. I dont know if there is an exception i need to add in the iptables or what it would be. I have no other firewalls running that I know of. All i know is i configured it the same as i had on windows but i cannot connect

You can try passive mode but you'd only be able to access other active users. If you're on active, you would need to add the port you specify in the settings dialog to iptables and to your router. Read the DC++ help for more info:

Can you help with this problem?
