How to delete tags or entries?

Asked by dc46and2

I have tags with zero entries---how can I delete them?

I've found that I can remove entries by first deleting all their text, then logging out and back in. Is there an easier way?

Sure. Just click the entry icon on the headerbar and select "Trash" from the menu to move to the trash. Then go back to the entry and select "Dismiss" from the same menu. Note: for trashed entries to be accessible, "In Trash" should be selected in the filter.

Perhaps a right-click menu with a "delete" option could be added to the wishlist? I think that would be more intuitive.

In any case, thank you very much for your quick response and for developing this great application. I've been using it for several years now!

This answers how to delete entries, but not the first part of the question, which is why I was looking here.

Can someone please tell me how to delete a tag that I don't need? Or do I have to keep it around, until I need a new one, and then change its name?

Oh. I'd never have guessed that... :-(
I'm always looking out for any context menus, or distinct edit buttons and dialogs, but there are none...

Thanks, Ahmet!
