libgphoto

does libgphoto support Nikon?

On Ubuntu Feisty beta, I am tring to no success to import digital photos from my Nikon Coolpix 990.

No matter what s/w I use, I get the same errore message from the importing/connection window, complaining about libgphoto2.3.0

I have tried debugging using gphoto2 --auto-detect --debug 2> gphoto2-autodetect.log only to find that apparently the Nikon drivers are missing. :o

Any suggestion as how to fix this?

I can't help you to resolve this problem, but it seems to be a bug, already reported in bug #94194.
So you can consult this report bug, and if your trouble is the same as described, you can add a comment to enrich this report.
