hi, for last some days i was going through the books of clfs but can't figure out what exactly it is. Please tell me for what these books are meant for.

CLFS and HLFS are not part of this project, but I'll answer this anyway...

CLFS and HLFS are variations of LFS. Basically they all explain how to build an OS from scratch, but CLFS (Cross LFS) lets you build one for other CPU architectures (cross compiling) and HLFS (Hardened LFS) is more concerned about security (hardening your system) and is more intended for building a server OS than a desktop OS.
