project closure request

Asked by David Farning

I am trying to clean up some of the cruft in the Sugarteam ( https://launchpad.net/~sugarteam ) projects. We currently have 7 individually listed projects.

Sugar Sucrose
Sugar
Sugar base
Sugar Toolkit
Sugar Artwork
Sugar Datastore
Presence Service

When in fact we have 1 project which is composed of several packages. Would it be possible to close and purge all of the projects except 'Sugar' to avoid confusion.

Before I deactivate the old projects, someone must delete the packaging links from the projects, and add them to sugar. For example, I see several links that will be broken on https://edge.launchpad.net/sugar-base/+packages when sugar-base is deactivated.

Thanks Curtis,

I have deleted the packages associated with artwork, base, and datastore and reassigned them to sugar. Can you delete theses three projects first and then I will start on the other three.

I'll work on Sucrose tomorrow.

Arg, I looks like sucrose was a meta project for other projects. No wonder I was so hard to find sugar related stuff in launchpad.

I have reassigned sugar-browse-activity, sugar-calculate-activity, sugar-chat-activity, and sugar-journal-activity. Can you please delete them? I'll work on the rest of sucrose tomorrow.

I deactivated the listed projects: https://edge.launchpad.net/sucrose shows a few remain.

Ok great,

I have merged the packages from

    * Hulahop
    * Sugar Read activity
    * Sugar Write activity

This should allow you:
1. To delete these three projects
2. Convert Sugar to an independent project ( I think it is currently a sub projest of Sucrose)
3. Delete sucrose.

From here I think we are ready to merge the Sugarteam and the debian-olpc-devel team as per https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad-registry/+question/95613 .

Thanks for helping clean this up! The Sugar on Ubuntu project has lingered for over a year getting crufty.

I deactivated the three sub projects. You can remove Sugar from Sucros by

1. Use the Change details link of https://edge.launchpad.net/sugar
2. empty the 'Part of' field

I will assign the question to an admin who can deactivate the project-group.
