what is 'Expired' status of question for?

I have asked some question in Launchpad and in case I didn't received help
for some time, so it turns its status from 'Open' to 'Expired'. What is this status for?
Should I post some comments to keep that answer open? Does this status mean
that it wouldn't be answered?

Yes, questions expire after 15 days of being unanswered. If an issue is still needing attention, you should re-open it.
