Renaming of "elisa" to "moovida"

Asked by Olivier Tilloy

Back in May 2009, when version 1.0 was released, the project known as "Elisa" was renamed "Moovida".
We would like to reflect this change in the various projects on Launchpad that refer to it (https://launchpad.net/elisa and https://launchpad.net/elisa-universe). Since there is already an empty "moovida" project, the workflow I identified for the complete renaming is the following:

1) delete the "moovida" project
2) rename the "elisa" project to "moovida"
3) set up an alias/redirection from "elisa" to "moovida"
4) rename the "elisa-universe" meta-project to "moovida-universe"
5) set up an alias/redirection from "elisa-universe" to "moovida-universe"

There are various other projects related to Moovida in Launchpad (for plugins, the projects are usually called "elisa-plugin-<plugin_name>"), but there is no need to rename them all now, we will request it on a case by case basis if needed.

Many thanks in advance,

Olivier

Thanks a lot Tom, it seems to work fine.
There is one more renaming I had forgotten to mention that would make the migration complete: renaming the "elisa-developers" team (https://launchpad.net/~elisa-developers) to "moovida-developers", and similarly set up a redirection.
Should I file a new question?

I've come across what seems to be a bug linked to this renaming.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/442070 is marked as affecting moovida, but the link is https://bugs.launchpad.net/moovida-disabled, and changing the project name triggers the following error popup:

  Not Found
  Object: , name: u'moovida-disabled'

Should I file a bug report for this?

Hey Olivier,

we can rename as desired but:
* your existing team PPA will go; ie all those packages will need to be re-created
* we can't do team redirections - only for projects

So if these are acceptable; we'll go ahead and make it so.

That 2nd one, the bug linking breakage? sounds like a bug somewhere...

Cheers!
- Steve

Hi Steve,

Can you please go ahead with the renaming of ~elisa-developers to ~moovida-developers? We can safely drop the existing PPA, and it's acceptable for us not to have a redirection.

Thanks,

Olivier

Regarding the renaming of ~elisa-developers to ~moovida-developers, I filed a separate question (#89844).
