Please import git.gnome.org

Asked by Dimitri John Ledkov

Can you please import all projects from git.gnome.org and change development focus for majority of gnome components? majority of them are using git (with small exception)?

I just love to bzr branch lp:$gnome-program and now they all seem to be very old.....

I think this is a great idea. I also think that we should get the APIs working to create imports.

Is there a central list or repository of gnome projects and their trunk branches?

http://git.gnome.org/cgit/ contains a list of repositories.

I think the best thing to do here is to remove all the old bzr-playground mirrors and import the gnome projects.

Best done with some API exposure here.

Is it ok to close this question in favor of the bug report?

IMHO not really. Maybe create another bug / task which will deal specifically with git.gnome.org import after the API bit will happen? As a launchpad user I would like to know / track via email the status of when the git.gnome.org imports will start to work so that I can go back to my workflow I had with svn.gnome.org imports. Will this happen simultaneous with bug #366102 getting fixed?

Hi Dmitrij,

I don't think it will be done together with bug 366102 fix. So let's keep this question open then and wait for the fix. You'll be notified when the bug is fixed and can remind us that this part needs doing.

Thanks

You should be able to create, either through the ui or the api, requests to import any particular projects you want. I don't think anyone has yet done a mass-import.

Can you help with this problem?
