How can I mark a question as invalid ?

Is it possible to mark questions as invalid or should you be in a restricted team ?

An answer contact for a project, the project owner, or an administrator can reject a question. So team membership is not necessary as anyone can elect to become an answer contact for a project to manage question status.

I see you are not an answer contact, though you are very busy in the Ubuntu distribution. You may want to be an answer contact.

Hi Hanusz,

Do you want to mark the question or one of the proposed answer as invalid. It is possible to mark a question as 'Invalid' by using the 'Reject' action. (You must be registered as an Answer contact in the project to have access to that feature). This should only be done for Questions that contains inappropriate content (spam, offensive text, etc.).

There is no status associated to each comment made on the question. To hide inappropriate content contained in a comment on a question is bug 85358.

If you are talking about indicating that the answer given by someone on the question is invalid (won't work, is incorrect), the best thing is to post another answer explaining how the other is wrong and with hopefully the correct answer.

We are considering adding "feedback" on answers. But the idea is still vague, it could be only restricted to the question's submitter, or maybe everybody could rate provided answer. If you have suggestions in this area, please let us know.

Btw, what was the answer you wanted to reject?

Hmm I made an error in the title, I wanted to say "How can I mark a question as invalid", I will edit the title.

I just saw a duplicate question rejected and I wondered how is was possible to do it.

Thanks for your answers, I am now answer contact for Ubuntu.
Don't worry, I will not reject questions without a good reason.
