Team name alias and solve the mail list problem

Asked by Ermal Llanaj

Hello. I have a little problem. Can i have an alias for my team. The team is the Albanian Local Community Team and this team is registered with the name "albania". I cant change the team name because it is posted all over the internet so if i change it the link will not work anymore and users will not find it. Is it possible to add an alias to it ? i want the alias "ubuntu-al".

Also if possible can someone take a look at the team mailing list. I have requested it many times but when i go to the mailing list configuration i get this :

"The application for this team's mailing list has been declined. Please contact a Launchpad administrator for further assistance."

Thank you. Ermal

Hi

Unfortunately aliases are not possible.

Regarding your mailing list, use the purge button and re-apply. Make sure your team has a good description, as this was possibly why the previous ML request was rejected (in fact I just checked and I can see that it has, so you shoud be good to go).

Hi Julian. Thank you for helping. I am a little confused because regarding to aliases i saw this Blog post that says that i can request it :

http://blog.launchpad.net/general/project-aliases

I think there should be no problems because there is no -al country all over the world instead of the US countrys but they have a -us-XX extension in their names so this should not be a problem. I am not sure but thats what i think.

Regardin the ML i see no purge button so can you please point me to the right direction ? Sorry for my ignorance and thank you.

Ermal

Hi

You want to alias a team, which is a very different entity to projects.

I've purged your mailing list details, so you should be able to create a new request now.

Regards.
