Would like to drop some project names.

Asked by TC-Rucho

I'd like to drop some project names I registered.
I registered ARCADE, ARCADA and ARCAD here at launchpad. I just registered them so as to reserve the names till I was sure what name we were going to use (reserved prior votation). Those projects are empty. I just tried a few things in ARCADE just to check some launchpad's features.

Actually, if it's possible, I'd like to have ARCAD+X as a superproject, since it could have different independient Extensions projects inside rather than having all under the same repository. If it's not possible to convert a project into a super project, then feel free to drop it. It only has a blueprint inside.

Thanks and sorry for the troubles.

I deactivated the four projects.

We can create a super project. I think the admin would like to now some more about the details.

ArCAD+X is supposed to be the main application, but under it's name, extension packs will be created as sepparate projects, since they will only use the core's API to provide further functionality for specific tasks. They may have different teams working on them, so I thought it would be better to have a project group to organize in a family-of-projects/projects-group.

I'm not sure exactly what I should do here. I understand you have a few extension projects you'd like to register under a project group, but you haven't made it clear which projects they would be (and you have actually had the ones you had removed, so I can't even guess). Can you provide me with URLs and information on the projects that would be part of the ArCAD+X project group? And should there be a separate ArCAD+X project for the code application itself?

*sigh*
Too late, I thought I was not going to get a reply at all about a couple of weeks ago.
We are already using Mercurial and I'm hosting the code repository myself and after all it took to get things running the way I wanted, I don't feel like moving to bazaar, which I've found to be inferior to Mercurial (to me at least).
Time will tell if I bring it back to bazaar and launchpad, but anyway..
What happened here is as follows:
   * I registered a few project names in order to reserve the project-name prior voting, so I requested to have deleted all those project-names that were not going to be used in this project.
   * Soon after that, I realised about project-groups, and requested ArCAD+X to be a project group, since (hopefully) a lot of extension-packs would grow under the umbrella of the core of the project.
   * I waited for a reply but finally decided to host stuff myself since it looked like this request was just not going to go anywhere.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

Ah, then I'm sorry I didn't get to your request earlier. At any rate We
will offer Mercurial imports soon and that will allow you to try
Launchpad (and Bazaar) out for your branches without requiring you
commit up-front.

If you're asking yourself about Bazaar, version 2.0 is just around the
corner and will definitely be worth a second look as the improvements
are actually pretty amazing.

Let me know if there's anything else you'd like me to help with. Thanks,
