Add arch RISC-V 64 to my PPA packages

Asked by Mike Ferreira

RE: https://launchpad.net/~mafoelffen/+archive/ubuntu/system-info/+edit

On package arch'es in my control file, I have "all". On Arch checkboxes, all are selected, except for RISC-V 64, which for some reason it will not select the checkbox.

Below that, there is this quote:
"The architectures on which the archive can build. Some architectures are restricted and may only be enabled or disabled by administrators."

...so I am assuming that not being able to select that arch falls under this(?)

I have not seen anywhere that I can contact and administrator to get this arch added, so am submitting this question.

We can currently only enable riscv64 builds for Canonical staff and Ubuntu core developers, because our current riscv64 builders aren't secure enough against one build making changes to a builder that persist into other builds. There's infrastructure work in progress which will allow us to fix this (after which it will become available as a self-service option), but it's not quite ready yet.

Thank you for the heads up. How can I get on a notification list for when that gets implemented?

We can tell users of that arch to just go straight to the UbuntuForum's GitHub Repo to get it there, until then. The deb package is just an installer of that BASH script.

There is no notification list that you can subscribe to. We will publish a blog post on the Launchpad blog when riscv64 builds become generally available.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Mike Ferreira for more information if necessary.
