Is using Launchpad only for using Bugs and Answers requires commerical license (AKA permission from Canonical)?

Asked by Andrei Jiroh Halili

While The Pins Team generally use GitHub and GitLab for our home of development, sometimes, we use Launchpad to also mirror and push into their Git counterparts if either of these services goes down.

If we want to use launchpad only for the issue tracker (Bugs) and forum (Answers), do we need to ask Canonical for permission?

No, that's fine. Commercial subscriptions are only needed for privacy features.

By the way, what license should I pick if I want to use Launchpad as our issue tracker?

Generally speaking you should list the licence of the project itself. If you have some odd special case then feel free to explain the specifics and we can discuss it.
