Set up libmbca translation in intrepid

Bug 291226 seems to be an Ubuntu bug about setting up the libmbca project for translation in Launchpad. This request is for setting up translations for the Ubuntu package.

The two are basically completely separate in Launchpad, but of course it's possible to do both. In that case you can ask translators to do their generic translation in the libmbca project, but make any Ubuntu-specific changes in the package.

I'm asking the Ubuntu folks to look at this request, but you may want to confirm that this is indeed the setup you want.

Jeroen: no, that bug is about setting up the Ubuntu package for translation. The project itself is in Gnome's SVN, that is fine. I just filed a bug against the source package in Ubuntu, as I didn't know where to ask, but now seems that setting up Ubuntu packages for translation is a Rosetta level problem(is this correct?), not package level as package maintainer can't do that properly.

No, this is not a Rosetta problem. As I explained there, the bug against the Ubuntu libmbca package is what needs solving by Ubuntu people (i.e. POT and PO files need to be in the source package during binary package build).

I suggested filing a question for Rosetta if maintainer wants to set up an upstream translation directly in Launchpad as well (on https://translations.launchpad.net/libmbca). Pre-conditions for that are that they use "gnome-translators" translation group, and do not use 'open' permissions. My feeling is that they should not do this.
